COMPANIES

The SatoshiLabs Group is a technology holding dedicated to strengthening the power and independence of the individual through creating innovations, advanced security tools and improvements for Bitcoin.

SatoshiLabs launched in 2013 with the goal of developing the world's first cryptocurrency hardware wallet, the Trezor Model One, and hasn't stopped innovating since. The group has been responsible for creating more than 22 innovative security standards, including Recovery Seed and Passphrase, which have significantly improved online security across the industry.

SatoshiLabs is a community-oriented company focused on improving cybersecurity practices and accelerating Bitcoin adoption. Their approach to design carefully balances security, privacy, and ease-of-use, while constantly expanding on all fronts.

Right now it comprises of four distinct companies namely Trezor, Invity, Tropic Square and Vexl. Trezor offers a secure and user-friendly solutions for users to safeguard their coins by creating and providing hardware wallets and the accompanying software. Invity helps users navigate the crypto space safely by bringing a complete crypto acquisition and exchange environment which offers the best rates from carefully vetted exchanges. Tropic Square is developing the world's first fully-auditable secure chip, freeing the whole InfoSec hardware sector to use more secure, trustless solutions. Vexl allows users to trade bitcoin through an app as it was intended: peer-to-peer without KYC.

SatoshiLabs currently serves users in over 220 countries and territories, and while each of the companies in this group functions independently, they all aim for the same goal: Creating an independent future for all by providing the most secure solutions for the decentralized financial ecosystem, accessible to anyone, anywhere.

Trezor gives users a safe and easy way to control and protect their digital assets and privacy. As the inventor of the world’s first hardware wallet, Trezor started a completely new industry and serves as the most experienced hardware wallet producers worldwide. Being completely self-funded allows for independent decision making and development while staying focused on enhancing their products usability, security and privacy. Trezor believes that collaboration improves security, which is why both their hardware wallets and software have been completely open-source from the very beginning. Trezor aims to empower individuals to achieve financial independence and protect their rights through simplifying bitcoin and creating a secure ecosystem for all.

Tropic Square is a private company founded in 2020 in response to the lack of supply of open architecture secure element chips. It was founded by Evžen Englberth and Jan Pleskač together with SatoshiLabs.

The core philosophy behind their product is all about independence and transparency. It's a movement that emerged about three decades ago, but it hasn't fully penetrated the world of chip design. That's exactly what the founders are aiming to change. Instead of relying on secrecy for security, they challenge the strength of their encryption through expert scrutiny and collaboration with the open-source community.

The goal is to bring customers an auditable chip that meets high security requirements while being verifiable by anyone thanks to its transparency and open-source principles. The first generation of the secure chip is currently under development with the working name TROPIC01 (TRuly OPen Integrated Circuit). The first prototype was developed in 2022, and the aim is to bring it to the market in 2025.

Invity is everyone’s friend in crypto.
