Out of nearly 300 MiCA licence applications submitted in the Czech Republic, Invity Finance ranks among the first companies to receive a MiCA licence from the Czech National Bank to provide crypto-asset services across the European Union.
Invity Finance is a Czech fintech company operating a mobile app for investing in bitcoin through smart investment strategies. Its journey began back in 2019 as a desktop comparison tool designed to help users of Trezor hardware wallets find the most advantageous options for buying and selling bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The company is one of the sister firms within the SatoshiLabs technology holding group, a pioneer and global leader in the bitcoin and broader cryptocurrency industry.
In 2022, the company set out to make buying bitcoin simple and to enable people to invest in it easily and securely. This led to the decision to build a native app for direct bitcoin purchases and sales. At the same time, it also meant embarking on the path toward regulation and launching the process of obtaining a MiCA licence.
The company was guided through the entire application process by the renowned law firm FINREG PARTNERS, which played a key role in setting up the regulatory framework for the project to ensure compliance with Czech National Bank requirements and applicable regulation.
Jan Šovar, Partner at FINREG, adds: “Obtaining a CASP authorisation is among the most demanding licensing procedures overall. While in some Member States the number of applications was only in the single or double digits, the Czech National Bank faced an exceptionally high volume of submissions. The Czech Republic has now joined the half of EEA countries where a CASP licence has already been granted. We therefore consider the successful completion of this project to be a significant milestone not only for the client, but for the entire Czech market. We are pleased to have stood behind one of the first successfully completed projects of such a strong and respected group as SatoshiLabs.”
Preparing for the licence was demanding. It involved a substantial amount of administration, significant time dedicated by the team, and a review of internal processes. As part of the preparations, new key positions were created along with internal processes focused on customer protection and meeting regulatory requirements. The application itself consisted of thousands of pages of documentation, dozens of internal policies, and many months of intensive work. Invity Finance submitted it to the Czech National Bank in July 2025. This was followed by several additional requests for information from the regulator. On 11 February 2026, the company successfully obtained the MiCA licence.
“We are part of a historic moment when the ‘cowboys’ of the crypto world put on blazers and went to meet with the Czech National Bank. It is unexpectedly symbolic that we are receiving the licence in the very year bitcoin celebrates its eighteenth anniversary since the publication of its white paper. The entire crypto-asset market is maturing, opening up to broader groups of people and, for the first time, officially to institutions as well. I am thrilled that, together with the entire Invity Finance team, we have obtained the licence and can provide users with an app offering the best strategies for buying bitcoin.” Pavla Nýdrle, Partner at Invity Finance
Obtaining the MiCA licence contributes to building a regulated environment for crypto-asset services in the Czech Republic and across the European Union. For customers, it means greater transparency, clearly defined rules, and a strong emphasis on secure processes when buying and selling crypto-assets. For companies themselves, the licence opens the door to cooperation with the banking sector and expansion into the single European market.
